NYS SENATOR VISIT: Chenango Forks CSD welcomed NYS Senator Webb (52nd District) and Mayer (37th District) today for a tour of the BT BOCES New Energy Program and a round table discussion regarding public school topics. Senator Mayer sits as the Chair of the Committee on Education for the State of NY.

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Huge shoutout to senior captain Taylor Scales! She’s dominating the 200 free relay, 50 free, and 100 breaststroke while leading the team in and out of the pool. Plus, she’s a Lacrosse standout too! Congrats, Taylor!

RISE AND SHINE: Friday was our first Rise and Shine Assembly for our 3rd through 5th grade students. Mrs. Birch and Mrs. Young led this assembly with a focus on leadership skills. This year, our students are receiving tickets from adults throughout the building for demonstrating one of the seven habits. The tickets are then turned into the office and names are drawn each week. The students whose tickets are pulled will be recognized at our Rise and Shine Assemblies for helping to “Lead the Way” at CFE. Congratulations to the students who were recognized this week for “Leading the Way”!



OPEN HOUSE: It's that time of year again! The Chenango Forks High School Open House is on September 24, 2024, from 6:00 - 7:00 pm. We encourage all families to come out and see what the entire school has to offer!


FIELD TRIP: The Costa Rica club went on a field trip to the trails at SUNY Broome Forks Alu, Ryan Black (22'). Ryan is a graduate of SUNY ESF’s Ranger School and taught students about the local forest ecology in the southern tier to see how it might compare to what students will see in Costa Rica! He taught about dendrology, forest succession, relationships between plants and animals, and how to determine the age of a forest.

FRENCH CLUB FUNDRAISER: Help support our French Club through their Donut Fundraiser! Students will begin selling on 9/23/24 and the donuts will arrive on the 27th! Both glazed and frosted options are available!


ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: This week's Athlete of the week is Zephan Tompkins. Tompkins has scored 6 goals and recorded 2 assists in 4 games. His energy has set the tone for Blue Devil’s soccer. Zephan is a senior and plays midfield. He is a 3-year varsity player and a captain. Zephan was named Greene Tournament All-Star. He is also a standout on our track and field team.


CHALK THE WALK: Chenango Forks Central School District is honored to participate in this year's BC SAFE 'Chalk the Walk' event. Taking place during 'Suicide Prevention Month,' the initiative aims to raise awareness about mental health and the resources available to the community.
