Students cooking

A recent collaborative project united three high school classes into one incredible experience! Mrs. Doolittle's Watercolor class, Mr. Rosko's TV Production class, and Mr. Groover's Foods class joined forces to bring art, cooking, and media production into a single exciting hands-on project.

The project began with students in the Watercolor class illustrating a favorite family recipe. Mr. Groover’s Foods class then reviewed the illustrated recipes and voted on which ones they wanted to cook. The top two selections were Sierra Entwistle’s Buffalo Chicken Dip and Bella Silvestri’s Tomato Sauce Recipe.

Taking the collaboration to the next level, Mr. Rosko’s TV Production class joined the Foods students in the kitchen, capturing every step of the cooking process on camera. After the dishes were plated, the watercolor students—who originally created the recipe illustrations—had the chance to taste-test each dish. They then determined which recipe most closely resembled their family dish.

Stay tuned in the coming weeks as we premiere the finished "Cooking Show" videos from each recipe and class.
