Students in Mr. Niemiec’s Transportation Systems Class completed a Problem Based Learning Project!
The problem: How do we create a secondary drivetrain in a space where it simply won’t fit?
The answer: Engineer a custom engine mount and frame clearance modifications.
Students engineered and fabricated an engine powered bicycle in collaboration with Mr. Hibbard, our Director of Transportation. Mr. Hibbard enabled us to have a safe space and transportation for our metalworking project in the bus garage. Students learned basic mechanical engineering, welding, and metal fabrication skills to bring their custom design to fruition.
