Avery

From humble high school hallway beginnings to the television screen, Avery Copeland is one of the newest faces of the Southern Tier’s daytime TV show; ‘Around the Tiers’.

After graduating from Chenango Forks during the historic 2020 school year, Copeland pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from SUNY Cortland. Copeland said it was through an opportunity she had there, that ignited the spark for her love of media.

After Cortland, Copeland continued her academic pursuits and earned her Master's Degree in business administration from SUNY Binghamton in 2024.

During her time in college, Copeland was able to take advantage of opportunities that sent her around the country. In February, she spent two weeks at Super Bowl LVIII, covering stories about the game and capturing events before and after. Inspired by her experiences in media, Copeland discovered her love for being on and behind the camera and the profound impact of storytelling in forging connections with audiences.

Reflecting on her time at Chenango Forks High School, Copeland reminisces fondly about her involvement in sports and her dedication to attending various events. Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, which interrupted her senior year and prevented her from participating in softball, Copeland cherishes her memories of being a Blue Devil.

As Copeland settles into her new role at WBNG, she says she is eager to share insights from her journey and is excited to see where this career will take her.
