END THE STEREOTYPES: Today, Chenango Forks CSD celebrates World Down Syndrome Day. According to the organization, Down Syndrome Intenational, this year's theme is #EndTheSteryotypes.
World Down Syndrome International on Stereotypes:
"A stereotype is a set idea that people have about what someone or something is like. Stereotypes can be positive, negative or neutral, but they are often inaccurate, or simply wrong! Stereotypes are often based on limited information or personal experience. They can be reinforced by the way something is represented in the media or by cultural messages. Once formed, a stereotype can be difficult to change."

MUSIC IN OUR SCHOOLS: Continuing our celebration of Music in Our Schools Month, today we highlight Mr. Tellerday's classes at CFE!
MR. ROGERS: We would like to wish Mr. Rogers a Happy Birthday from all of us in the Chenango Forks Neighborhood.
Fred Rogers was a trailblazer and huge advocate for education and educational programming on television, some of the same methods still used today on PBS!

PI DAY: Happy Pi Day to everyone! Today is March 14, which makes the date 3.14 just like the first numbers in Pi!
SOLAR ECLIPSE 2024: Due to the Solar Eclipse on April 8th, we will be on a modified schedule. The MS/HS will dismiss at 11:30am and CFE will dismiss at 12:30pm. This is a once or twice in a lifetime event and a great educational opportunity for students. The main viewing timeframe for the eclipse is during our normal dismissal, therefore we determined it would be best to modify our day to ensure that students are home safely with family prior to the event.
WE'RE HIRING: Join the #ForksNation team and make a difference in the lives of our students. We are looking for an Extended Teacher Aide Substitute. Apply here: https://www.cforks.org/page/employment
REMINDER: There will be no school for students on March 14th and 15th
MUSIC IN OUR SCHOOLS: March is NAMM's Music in Our Schools Month! To celebrate, we are highlighting the many music programs Chenango Forks CSD has to offer, starting with Mr. Reynold's High School Band!

AG LITERACY MONTH: Second grade students had a “sweet” opportunity to participate in AG Literacy month! First, students listened to the read aloud story, I Love Strawberries, by Shannon Anderson. This book is about a girl who is trying to convince her parents to allow her to have a strawberry patch. She shows her parents that she is responsible and able to care for the strawberries despite how much work it is. Between the illustrations and writing, students were able to make connections to their recent scientific learning about living things! Then, they enjoyed a healthy and delicious treat of cut up strawberries with a mini rice cake. Lots of fun was had during this experience!
AFTER PROM FUNDRIASER: Spring Sports start today and the Musical is going into tech-week, you know what that means? Your students will be HUNGRY! We've got you covered though! After Prom is hosting their Subway Fundraiser TODAY from 4-7 at the Front St. Location! 20% of all Dine-In and Take-Out Orders will go to the cause!
TRI CITIES OPERA: Our friends at CFE were treated to a special performance of 'Papagayo' from the Tri-Cities Opera today! Through the show, students learned about how to use their voice and speak up when something is bothering them.
MAMMA MIA!: Knowing me, knowing you'll be at Chenango Forks Upstager's production of Mamma Mia! March 14-17 in the High School Auditorium!
