As we welcome the warmer weather and greener outdoors, I hope this newsletter finds you and your families excited for an eventful April! As spring sports get underway, this is also a prime time to celebrate the incredibly talented artists and musicians in our district. This is also the time of year where our district office and board of education are working hard on preparing budgets for the upcoming school year and beyond.
For the past three board meetings, we have dedicated time to budget workshops, to inform our board of education and the public on projected aid and revenue. This then helps us develop plans for funding programs moving forward. Our next budget hearing will be included as part of our regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting on April 16, at 6 p.m. You can always view information about the budget on our website at https://www.cforks.org/page/board-of-education . Our May newsletter will be distributed electronically and also mailed out as a print version, as it will include our budget report card and voting information.
April is also the month where our Forks Nation focuses on the habit of “Synergize” as part of our 7 habits and character education program. This month we will be exploring the idea of Synergize in all of our buildings and looking for opportunities to engage in creative cooperation. We hope to help students and staff discover that Synergy isn’t your way or my way, it’s finding a new and better third alternative. This month’s character education video highlights and celebrates some great leaders in our district and provides resources for families to apply these concepts at home.
I hope you enjoy an “Awesome April” and take advantage of the many engaging school community events such as our Agriculture Day on April 4, featuring the mobile dairy experience from 5 p.m. -7 p.m. I would also like to invite you to come out and experience the talents of our music and drama club students as they perform “The Addams Family” musical Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, April 6 at2:30 p.m.
