Coach Hogan

On Dec. 23, 2024, The New York Giants and Gatorade announced Chenango Forks Director of Athletics and Physical Education Dave Hogan as the 2024 Lou Rettino High School Coach of the Year. This prestigious honor recognizes Coach Hogan’s unwavering dedication to his student-athletes, his community, and his love for the game of football.

Hogan has served as head coach for the Chenango Forks Blue Devils for 17 seasons, leading them to win five New York State titles and 12 Section IV championships. In 2024, under Hogan’s leadership the team finished the season with a 11-2 record and a Section IV championship.

The Lou Rettino High School Coach of the Year Award is named in memory of former Union High School (N.J.) coach Lou Rettino, celebrating his commitment to football, community service, and the development of student-athletes. This award is part of the Giants’ ongoing initiative to support high school football and inspire future generations of athletes.

In recognition of Hogan’s achievement, the Chenango Forks football program will receive a $4,000 grant from The Giants Foundation and Gatorade. Hogan also is awarded a certificate of recognition signed by Giants head coach Brian Daboll and will be honored at a post-season dinner as well as a 2025 Giants preseason home game. Additionally, Hogan will serve as the Giants’ nominee for the NFL’s Don Shula NFC High School Coach of the Year Award and will receive a $1,000 grant from the NFL Foundation.

Beyond the football field, Hogan is committed to the education and well-being of his students, and he plays an active role in advancing high school football as a member of the Section IV Football Committee.
