On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, Chenango Forks High School partnered with SUNY Broome to host their College Express Day, a unique opportunity to streamline the application and acceptance process to SUNY Broome. This is the first year that Chenango Forks High School has offered this event, which allowed students to apply and be accepted instantly to SUNY Broome. Over 100 Chenango Forks Seniors participated in the event.
Students were guided by members of the SUNY Broome Admissions Department through the application process. During this time students were given the opportunity to complete a career assessment to help align their future career with their areas of interest. In addition, they received information on the many academic programs offered at SUNY Broome, details on college transfer options should they decide to pursue further education after competition of their degree from SUNY Broome, as well as become informed on the workforce development programs and microcredentials offered.
College Express Day is a part of the larger College Express Partnership between SUNY Broome and the Chenango Forks School District, offering unique support and resources for students planning for college. In addition to instant acceptance, this partnership includes exclusive enrollment events for Chenango Forks students, focusing on financial literacy, academic advising, college readiness, and course registration.
