1st graders have to know how to read and write 100 words by the end of first grade.  If you want to get a head start print and cut out the flash cards.  Start with list 1 and add higher lists when ready. :)

All About Mrs. Maus

Welcome to first grade! My name is Mrs. Maus and I have been teaching first grade for over 20 years! I graduated from SUNY Cortland after receiving my undergraduate and masters degree. 

My husband, Michael, and I live in the Chenango Forks School Dictrict and we have two children, Joshua and Megan.  Spending time with my family is my most favorite thing to do in this world.  My other hobbies are reading, crafting, Pinterest and cooking. 

My philosophy for teaching is that all children can and will learn with the proper support and environment.  I feel blessed that I get to work with young children to help them develop a LOVE for learning!  Stop in our classroom and check out how it all happens.  Hope to see you soon!
