Reading & Writing

Over the course of the year students will be participating in authentic reading and writing experiences through reader's and writer's workshop. We will study a variety of literature, genres of reading and writing in whole and small group lessons

Math

Practice your math facts this summer! Second graders coming to third grade should know their addition and subtraction facts fluently (3 seconds or less per fact). In third grade we will be learning multiplication and division, rounding, elapsed time, measuring weight and liquid in metric units, area, perimeter, fractions, and generate and analyze data (charts/ graphs). We will have a lot of fun this year in math! We will do daily fluency practice, whole group math lessons, and guided math groups daily.
