How to Cite Sources

When writing a paper or doing research for a project, you must always give credit to the sources you consulted. This includes direct quotes, ideas, and information.

Follow the MLA and APA guides below or consult the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers, which is available in the Library.

There are consequences to stealing others' ideas. The following is from the CFHS Student Handbook:

A student shall be subject to disciplinary action in relation to the following:

  • Stealing, lying, cheating, plagiarism or other acts of dishonesty
